Roberto Valentin, born Roberto Valentin Salinas II, was born in 1982 in the small South Texas town of San Benito. He moved at the age of 4 to Austin, Texas, where he grew up with his mother, Norma, and sister, Yvette. While in Austin he attended The University of Texas; graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Government.
After graduation, Robert attended law school at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. While in law school he wrote and edited on the Law Journal, as well as earning membership into Phi Delta Phi, the legal honor fraternity. He graduated from St. Mary's in 2007 with a Juris Doctorate.
During his four year stint in San Antonio, Robert became a student of Capoeira - an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines kicks, acrobatics, and fluid ground movements. Robert is pictured below performing such movements. Additionally at this time, Robert became a certified personal trainer.
After graduation Robert worked as a court-appointed criminal defense attorney, which lead way to his civil practice at Hermes Sargent Bates, a Dallas based law firm. Although Robert found the work to be interesting, his passion lies in fashion and sewing as an art form.
Robert makes all of his own patterns and has learned the art of draping fabric on the human form. His work is displayed in the galleries located in V. Collection. Because of this love of fashion, Robert began the CROQUET Brand Clothing ready-to-wear line.
